Accessories for MF25 Reflective Focusing System

The MF25/A/SA mirror-based focusing head is the basic part of a complete focusing system. The accessories described
in this data section may be added, as required, to form a complete focusing system, with the following features:
* Gas sealed … (using MF25/B/SA).
* Rotational capability about X axis … (using MF25/D/SA).
* Accepts vertical input beam … (using MF25/E/SA).
The MF25 series of focusing units are intended for use with high power lasers in welding and cutting applications, and
provide a superior option to the use of (expensive) off-axis parabolas.
Technical specifications
(1) MF25/B/SA Sealing window
Dimensions : See Figure 28.21.
Clear aperture : 30mm diameter.
Construction : Aluminium alloy cell, black anodised, with ZnSe pressure window 38mm diameter x 6mm
Gas pressure : Up to 20 Bar.
Sealing : ‘O’ ring seals.
Operation : Screws into input aperture of MF25/A/SA.
(2) MF25/C/SA Fixed flange interface
Dimensions and details as per MF25/D/SA, but no rotational capability (1-piece flange).
(3) MF25/D/SA Rotary flange interface
Dimensions : See Figure 28.22.
Clear aperture : 30mm diameter.
Construction : Aluminium alloy flanges, black anodised, with two low-profile bearings and stainless steel
lock screw.
Angle scale : Engraved at 10° intervals over ±90° from zero (vertical) position.
Operation : Affixes to MF25/A/SA (over MF25/B/SA) and connects to customer equipment (horizontal
beam input) or to MF25/E/SA for vertical beam input.
(4) MF25/E/SA Auxilliary mirror block
Dimensions : See Figure 28.23.
Clear aperture : 30mm diameter.
Construction : Aluminium alloy frame and main parts. Stainless steel tilt screws. NiCu mirror, gold coated,
standard 50mm diameter x 10mm thick type (Part number 19.7NCA10-00).
Cooling : Water cooled, via 6/4 size fittings.
Operation : Connects to MF25/D/SA interface flange to allow vertical beam input. Factory pre-aligned if
purchased as part of complete MF25 focusing system.
(5) SNA series assist-gas nozzles
The SNA series of gas nozzles are described in Technical
Data Section 9.10.
SNA nozzles fit directly to MF25/A/SA. See data section
28.1 for selection of appropriate model.
Where the laser user wishes to change the system focal
length by replacing the mirror set in MF25/A/SA, the basic
nozzle chamber and tip construction is retained, and only the
spacer/adaptor is replaced.
