LAU38 Lateral Adjustment Unit

Introduction
Model LAU38 mechanical assembly affixes to ‘LPG’ large optical piping and provides a laterally
adjustable male mounting thread for a BE38 series beamexpander (Section 67.4). As well
as the external male thread upon which a BE38 is mounted, the laterally adjustable section of the
LAU38 unit has an internal thread for mounting the LAX38 crosswire, to enable precise alignment
by the shadow-burn technique. Adjustment is by means of contra-opposed thumb screws.
The screws must be tightened to prevent rotation of the male mount thread.

Construction : Aluminium HE30 body, black anodised, mild steel chemically
blackened; stainless steel screws.
Lateral adjustment range : +/- 3mm X and Y
Tilt/rotation : Yes, unless adjustment screws are tightened.
Clear aperture : 38mm diameter.
