LNA Series Gas Nozzle

IntroductionLNA laser Nozzle
LNA gas nozzles are intended for use with 50mm and 2.0″ diameter lenses mounted in ULO Optics
‘M20’ lens mounts. The LNA nozzles are suitable for assist gas pressures up to 20+ bar.
For details of suitable mounted lenses, see data section 8.30.
LNA series nozzles are 92mm maximum diameter.
The lateral-adjust screws are fully sealed.
Height adaptors are used for lens focal lengths of 75mm and longer. A selection of nozzle tips and height
adaptors allows use with all lens focal lengths from 50mm (2″) to 381mm (15″).
Technical specifications
Dimensions : See Figure 9.301
Nozzle tip adjustment : +/-3.0 mm in Z-axis.
+/-1.5 mm in lateral adjustment.
Fitting : 80.0 x 1.0 pitch thread.
Max gas pressure : 20 bar
Nozzle tip hole : 1.5mm diameter is std.
Gas inlet : Via 8/6 fitting as std. Other sizes available on request.
Available models/specifications
All LNA nozzles use a basic body LNA/SA incorporating gas seals, vertical and lateral adjustment mechanisms
and gas inlet. The thread fitting in the main body is 1/4″ BSP, allowing various gas inlet fittings to be used
Nozzle standoff is 3mm +/-3mm asLNA-Laser-Nozzle-Data
standard. This is user-adjusted by
rotation of a knurled ring, and locked by
a castellated ring.
Nozzle tips are from copper.
Table 9.302 details the LNA nozzle
assembly required for lenses described
in tech. data section 8.30.
Table 9.302 contains a representative
selection of designs. Other focal lengths
may be used with LNA nozzles. Other
focal lengths may be used with LNA
nozzles. Call for details if a special FL is
required.
The final two figures of the nozzle tip
designation give the nozzle tip length
‘LT’ (see fig 9.301). Example:- for nozzle
tip NT/01/20, the value LT = 20mm.

Associated equipment
LNA nozzles attatch directly onto the following equipment:
CFF50 coarse/fine focus unit
WMD water-cooling mount: Tech. section 9.80.
(Fitting to CFF50 is usually via WMD mount).
Important note: LNA nozzles do not attatch directly to the ‘M20’ lens mount. Interface is usually via model
WMD water-cooling mount.
Applications note
The nozzles are standardized for 3+/-3mm standoff in order to suit a wide range of common applications.
Certain processes may suit either larger standoff values (thick-section cutting) or smaller values (die-board
processing).
ULO Optics are able to supply longer or shorter nozzle tip types for those cases where a customer
specifies a modification to the required standoff value.
